How to Win Friends and Influence People, Dale Carnegie

Dale Carnegie was a lecturer and master in personal relationships. In 1937, Dale Carnegie wrote a book, which would later become the greatest guide ever written for interpersonal relationships.

According to a study from the University of Chicago, human beings’ greatest interest is to understand perfectly how the relationship between people works. In this book Dale Carnegie could deliver it all.

“How to Win Friends and Influence People,” teaches us that the key to long-lasting and healthy relationships between us and our loved ones, is the ability to genuinely put ourselves in the place of others.

Dale Carnegie provides a variety of very simple, effective and easy to apply tactics, so that we can understand each other better and create in people a deep interest in knowing us.

Don’t judge, don’t criticize, don’t condemn. People are exactly what you would be, if you had been raised under the same circumstances.” – Dale Carnegie

The book shows as well that in our interpersonal relationships, the little details are the ones which make all the difference: a smile, calling people by their names, correcting people’s mistakes without humiliating them, among other practices.

Dale Carnegie re-educates us, in four distinct parts of the book:

I. Fundamental Techniques In Handling People
II. Six Ways To Make People Like You
III. Twelve Ways To Win People To Your Way Of Thinking
IV. Be a Leader: How to Change People Without Giving Offense or Arousing Resentment
